How it works
Section titled “How it works”Most chart widgets combine a data source, one or more measures, one or more dimensions, and optional filters or time settings. The Widget Builder validates the selected fields and previews the result before saving.
Step-by-step
Section titled “Step-by-step”- Start from a clear question.
- Choose a source that contains the needed fields.
- Select the chart type that matches the question.
- Add metrics and dimensions.
- Configure timeline, sorting, labels, colors, and overlays.
- Preview the chart and check for misleading scales.
- Save only when the result answers the question.
Common mistakes
Section titled “Common mistakes”Do not use pie or donut charts for many categories. Use bars or tables when categories exceed a small set.
Do not assume that positive variance is always good. Favorability depends on the measure’s business direction.
