Charts

Charts communicate patterns in governed data. Rokks supports time series, category charts, scorecards, maps, networks, gauges, and other visual forms.

Most chart widgets combine a data source, one or more measures, one or more dimensions, and optional filters or time settings. The Widget Builder validates the selected fields and previews the result before saving.

  1. Start from a clear question.
  2. Choose a source that contains the needed fields.
  3. Select the chart type that matches the question.
  4. Add metrics and dimensions.
  5. Configure timeline, sorting, labels, colors, and overlays.
  6. Preview the chart and check for misleading scales.
  7. Save only when the result answers the question.

Do not use pie or donut charts for many categories. Use bars or tables when categories exceed a small set.

Do not assume that positive variance is always good. Favorability depends on the measure’s business direction.
