Schema Editor

Section titled “Overview”The Schema Editor lets you correct and enrich table metadata after a source has been loaded. Use it when a field name, type, unit, relationship, or constraint needs to be improved for future analysis.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Dashboards, filters, Sidekick, alerts, and integrator-facing metadata all rely on the catalog. The Schema Editor updates that catalog so the change is visible everywhere. A display rename changes what users see; it does not require reloading the source data.
Step-by-step
Section titled “Step-by-step”- Open the loaded source in Data Fabric.
- Open the schema or metadata panel.
- Review field labels, types, units, and key flags.
- Update incorrect or unclear metadata.
- Save the changes.
- Reopen a dashboard widget or source selector to confirm the improved labels.
Common mistakes
Section titled “Common mistakes”Do not create a new upload just to rename fields. Use metadata editing when the data itself is correct.
Do not leave important measures without units. A revenue, duration, count, or percentage field is easier to trust when the unit is explicit.
