Dashboard Filters

Dieser Inhalt ist noch nicht in deiner Sprache verfügbar.

Filters narrow dashboard data so users can focus on a time window, category, tenant segment, status, or selected value. They are essential for dashboards that serve more than one question.

A filter applies to widgets that can resolve the selected field. Time filters affect time-aware widgets. Dimension filters affect widgets with matching catalog fields. Cross-filtering uses clicks on one widget to narrow related widgets.

  1. Decide whether the dashboard needs global or widget-specific filters.
  2. Add a time filter for time-based dashboards.
  3. Add dimension filters for key business categories.
  4. Confirm that each target widget responds correctly.
  5. Test empty states and default values.
  6. Save the dashboard after confirming the filter behavior.

Do not add many filters before users ask for them. Too many controls make dashboards harder to read.

Do not filter on fields with unclear labels. Fix metadata first so users understand what they are selecting.
